Design Assistant (Part Time)
The Design Assistant will work under the direction of the Design Team to provide essential support for the design team, ensuring efficiency, organization, and the successful execution of luxury residential projects. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, collaborative studio environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Key Responsibilities

Assist the Design Team with project-related tasks, including client presentations, construction documentation, and specifications

Order samples for finishes, furnishings, lighting, fabrics, and other materials

Contact vendors to obtain pricing, quotes, and lead times

Assist Designers/Project Managers with project budgets and financial tracking

Open, inspect, and label incoming products for project inventory

Assist with coordination of product installation and deliveries to job sites

Develop, maintain, and update materials library

Schedule vendor office visits

Provide support to the Project Coordinator, as needed, with entering specified products and preparing client proposals using project management software.

Assist the Project Coordinator with creating project purchase orders and placing orders with vendors.

Help track orders and follow up with vendors regarding product lead times and deliveries.

Coordinate with local receiving warehouses, as needed, regarding deliveries and inspections in collaboration with the Project Coordinator.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program

Minimum of 1–2 years of post-graduate experience in interior design, construction, or architecture preferred

Professional work ethic and polished appearance

Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp preferred (or similar 3D design/construction documentation software)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office required

Experience with accounting/project management software is a plus
